Self-defence and pro wrestling classes in Leeds

Do you want to learn how to get slammed into the mat, create a character that has the audience cheering (or booing), and throw your opponent through the air without hurting them? Or maybe you’re more interested in chokes, throws, takedowns and punches to keep yourself safe. Our classes will teach you techniques for both real and staged violence, whichever you prefer.

Our classes

  • Queer Pro Wrestling

We teach everything from high-impact slams to technical holds, as well as character work and how to entertain a crowd. We can teach you how to suplex someone, take a clothesline and cut a promo in character.

  • Queer Self-Defence

From de-escalation and self-defence law to chokes, throws and joint locks, our self-defence classes are a safe, fun way to learn practical ways to escape danger. We focus on grappling as a way to control a fight and get yourself to safety.

Our ethos

We have one simple rule when it comes to our classes:

Every queer person is welcome

That means every body type, every level of experience, every ability. Both professional wrestling and self defence are physical activities, but any techniques we learn can be adapted to suit you and your needs. We welcome complete beginners and experienced practitioners, as well as everyone in-between.

Everyone gets something different out of our classes. If you want to be forged into the ultimate fighting machine, we’ll certainly do our best! However, if you just want to come along and hang out with other queer people, you’re just as welcome. We’ve had people come along to observe from the sidelines, draw the wrestlers and have a chat about martial arts. Of course, if you want to come and have a scrap you’ll find plenty of enthusiastic opponents too!
